One Point Perspective - Linda D. 01-23-26
Art Activity for January 23, 2026
“One Point Perspective”
In this activity I will explain how to draw basic forms using a single
vanishing point. Then we will design the interior of a room.
Materials Needed:
> PENCIL with sharp point or mechanical pencil
> RULER
> ERASER (one that will not smudge graphite)
> PAPER(Several sheets needed for practice.
Since there may be a lot of erasing a heavier paper
will work well or even card-stock.)
Optional: For the finished drawing you may add color with any media or
you may just work with pencil.
There are two attachments.
> The first one:
a.Gives a definition of linear perspective.
( It says it is a mathematical technique.
Rest assured we will not be doing any math.)
b.Shows a simple diagram.
c. Gives a you-tube link to a demonstration.
We will not be duplicating what is done in the demo.
You will learn a variety of ways to break up space
in a room.
>The second attachment shows a small sampling
of works using one point perspective.
During our zoom session you can follow along with me in
creating a room interior.I will show you a variety of options.
Or you can work independently to use perspective in a less traditional manner.
Looking forward to exploring the “third dimension” with you.
